Bands: Mudvayne, V Shape Mind, Fingertight

The concert was amazing. Although before I start, I have to say that Powerman 5000 was scheduled as an opening act, but after the release of their sophmore album, and barley any record sales, their record company pulled the funding, and took them off the tour. Which dissapointed fans but still drew a large crowd. Fingertight wasn't that great, and I wasn't the only one who thought this. Many of the people in the crowed were talking about their incredible dislike for the band, and the crowd was more then happy when their set had finished. They were sort of a nu-metal kind of band, the lead singer amazing the crowd by going absolutely insane. Looking like an Abercrombie model, he flipped and flipped around the stage, humped other band mates and the amp infront of him, and persistently decided to "spit" into his hand and "jack off" with his microphone at his crotch. Quite wild, and rather amusing for the first few minutes before they just got annoying. The second band out was V Shape Mind, thankfully, they were better than Fingertight, but they still weren't greatly liked by the crowd. They were like a cross between Smile Empty Soul and Jane's Addiction. (thanks Tyler). The lead singer, with his ear length blue and black hair, had a bit of talented vocals from screaming to singing and back, once again, a metal band... or should I say.. "nu metal"... Unlike Fingertight, you couldn't tell V Shape Mind's first song, from their last. Then it was time for Mudvayne. Showing great light tricks with the 8 spot lights that they had propped up on their incredibly large speakers, that would all scan in different directions, and the overhead lights changing colors according to the different advances in the song, the crowd was rather impressed. Doing songs of their new album, and their old, the incredibly packed Webster floor was flooded with cheers, screams and a mosh pit in the center. Looking astrangly human, without their makeup, or costumes, Mudvayne put on an amazing show, pleasing the crowd incredibly; performing hit songs such as "Dig", "Death Blooms", and "World So Cold." The lead singer stopped to talk to the crowd every so often, thanked them for their support and spoke the "if it wasn't for you guys, we wouldn't be here" speech. At the end of the show, they had every one give a round of applause for the opening acts, and sadly enough, it was the most cheers they got; when Mudvayne told the crowd to clap. For going at last minute, thanks to a friend of mine who now longer wanted to go, I was pleased. With my second time seeing Mudvayne, they never let me down, they're one hell of a metal band.<< Back To Reviews
