A free show! Yay! So this isn't the normal place to see shows around here, but every once in a while you get one here, at the Unitarian Church in Montpelier. Well I know what you could be thinking... a punk show? In a church?! Yup, you better believe it was a good one too. One of the most energized shows I'd seen in a while, there was about 8 bands for the night although I don't remember them all. They included: My Revenge, The Jonee Earthquake Band, Worthless United, and the River City Rebels. The main attractions were Worthless United and the Rebels. My Revenge had a tight set, it could have been one of the best sets I've seen them play, they sounded great and eveyone went crazy for them. Everyone had been holding back with the venue rules and such, but it was a stage diving and circle pit dream. Next up on the bill was Worthless United. Simply put they were amazing. It was the first time I had ever seen them play, but since I had heard good things about them I was psyched to finally hear them. The crowd seemed to enjoy them. 'Mr.Telephone Operator' has to be my favorite song from them.

Now, onto one of my favorite bands, The River City Rebels. Now I've seen RCR a number of times, but this was one of the best times…well what am I saying? Every time I see them its the best time, they just put on an amazing show with the best energy, time after time. They mixed songs from all of their three CDs and kicked off the set with 'Such A Bore". I could probably tell you the whole set, song by song, but I'll try to make this short and easy on the eyes. Bottom line, it was great, and the crowd went crazy for them. Everyone was singing along, and the whole floor was moving with lots of stage diving and a few good circle pits. Its always exciting when they mix new stuff into the set list, which RCR did, mixing in '6 AM' and many of their songs off "Racism, Religion, and War". Its always awesome when they play 'Hate' and 'Military Attitude'. They also managed to get in a good mix of songs off the new release "No Good, No Time, No Pride" in there, which is just as great at the previous CDs. Anyone who has never heard them before is truly missing out. All of this combined created an awesome night, full of awesome bands and great energy. If you ever get a chance to check any of these bands out, you definitely should, or else you're missing out on some great music and an amazing show.
