At first, this band sounded like they were trying too hard to sound like Papa Roach or POD. But after listening to it a few more times, the band proved that they were more distinctive.

In most of the songs of E-Town Concrete’s 2003 “The Renaissance,” vocalist Anthony Martini employs a form of rapping, especially in the first track 'Mandibles'. Occasionally, Martini demonstrates that his vocals are not limited to this. In the songs 'Metroid' and 'Baptism', Martini uses a different style similar to Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed. Christian Machado of Ill Nino and Jamey Jasta actually supply guest vocals on several tracks. The result is that the songs sound heavier than they actually are. In 'So Many Nights' Martini switches from rapping to actually singing within the song, proving himself to be a proficient singer. E-Town Concrete’s sound, which consists of mid-tempo metal with a strong hip-hop influences, is overall decent and easily distinguishable from any rap-metal or nu-metal bands. The sound, combined with the vocals, seems to reflect the environment described in the lyrics: “At night fist fights left my mom’s face smashed in”. The arrangement and style of the music varies, ranging from pure metal riffs to the acoustic guitar in 'So Many Nights'. There is some variation within each song as well. The combination of their sound, arrangement, and lyrics makes “The Renaissance” a satisfactory album for any hardcore fan.
