When I first got into The Metro the first thing I did was warm up because I was freezing my ass off for a good 45 minutes or so outside with shorts and a short sleeve shirt on. But that’s besides the point…The first band to go on stage was Don’t Look Down. I didn’t really know much of their stuff but they put on a hell of a performance. They sound great and they really got the crowd going because they were filming for their DVD. If you haven’t heard of them, you should get the song “On My Own”. That song really demonstrates just how good they can be. Next up was Fall Out Boy. They’re a local Chicago band in the process of getting their upcoming record “Take This to Your Grave” released. They are a very energetic pop/punk band with a sound similar to The Starting Line. I’d have to say there were just as many people there for Fall Out Boy as there were for Allister. With the catchy choruses and upbeat guitar riffs, Fall Out Boy gives a whole new definition to the new generation of punk. It was my first time seeing them and all I can say is see them for yourself, you’ll get hooked. Headlining the show was Allister. They all came out on stage with shirts and ties (except Scottie because he “forgot” it was bring your tie to work day). The 2 newest members of Allister (Kyle and Mike) I must say were awesome for only being in the band for only 2 months and were a very pleasant surprise. Allister did all the stupid little things they always do on stage to make the crowd laugh and I’d have to say this is one of the best sounding shows I’ve ever heard when it comes to sounding like they do on their cd. I highly recommend seeing Fall Out Boy and Allister whenever any of you have a chance. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
