Joanne:Who are you and what do you do in the band?
I'm Travis Ryan Devine and I play guitar/'vocals with Sergio Alex Elisondo on
lead guitar/ vocals in the band Fallnup.
Joanne:What got you into making music?
Travis: When I was little, my family had always been into music, so I kind of
just fell in love with it and that's why I do what I do today.
Sergio: I guess what got me started was the fact that I had always wanted to
be a musician. With my oldest brother influencing me heavily in music, it was
easier to find my passion.
J:Who have been your influences?
Sergio: Some of my main influences have been bands like - "The Offspring",
"Megadeth", "Lit", and "Hi-Standard".
Travis: I would have to say my influences came from bands like - "Blink-182"
(the "old" blink-182), "Yellowcard", "Fenix TX", my dad, my brother Kelly and
the list goes on.
Joanne:If you could meet anybody dead or alive who would it be and why?
Sergio: If there is one person that I could meet, it would be Pauly Shore.
This dude has taught me that life is only cool if you make it that way. "Weizin'
the Ju-uice! Oww, Bu-ddy!"
I Know that Travis would die a happy man if he was able to chill and eat Taco
Bell with Mark Hoppus. Mark Hoppus's songs totally helped Travis pull through
his teenage years.
Joanne:If you could go on tour with any band in the world, who would it be?
Serge: Megadeth or Lit
Travis: Anybody that is down to rock out with us!
Joanne:What three CDs are you listening to right now?
Travis: Yellowcard, Over it, Eminem
Sergio: Ken Yokoyama, Hi-standrad, Ten Foot Pole
Joanne:Tell us about the new CD and how your recording experience has been.
Sergio: It was an awesome experience considering the fact that we were able
to hear the true sounds of our creations. The producer at the time, enjoyed
tickling our bass player with a feather.
Joanne: If you could recommend any one artist (other than your own band) to our
readers, who would you recommend and why?
Travis: I'd have to say Emaneht because ever since Fallnup as a band started
walking, they have been there every step of the way.
Joanne: What are your goals for the band?
Travis: Our goals are to rock the world and make music for everyone to enjoy,
even for the yetis in the California Mountains.
Sergio: I just want the world to hear the music we write.
Joanne: Where do you hope to be in ten years?
Sergio: Obese and sitting on the beach, still writing tunes for the world to
hear.
Travis: Taco bell
Joanne: If you weren't in a band, what would you be doing right now?
Travis: Working as a garbage dude
Sergio: Working as Travis' partner
Joanne: What's your advice for up and coming musicians?
Both: Never lose faith in what you do. And always remember that if you strive
hard enough, you could accomplish anything.
Joanne: Any last words?
Both: First off, this interview rocks. We had hoped that the other two guys
in the band could have been here, but they are out sailing together with Dean
(from Emaneht). Much love to you guys, Ralph, Mark, and dean. We would also
